Filipino Fashion Designers feat. OLIVER TOLENTINO

I was watching SNN last night and there was this segment about actress, Alessandra de Rossi having problems on what to wear for the 64th Cannes Festival. Yep, she was invited to represent our country with her movie (sorry, i don't know the title :p) though the invitation did not mean the movie is up for awards, yet indeed it is a privilege, right? :)

She later mentioned the designer of her gown - Mr. Oliver Tolentino. He is the first Philiipines-based fashion designer who made it BIG in his chosen field abroad, Los Angeles to be exact. :)

Despite his fame abroad he does not forget his Filipino side. He uses Philippine materials for his gowns and other creations. He was one of the Top 9 finalists chosen to create a gown for the girls who will be bringing the Oscars Trophy during the 82nd Academy Awards. He made a dramatic gown made of pineapple fiber (pinya) and abaca.
